Poetry workshop: Cutups in Sunshine

Last week I ran a short poetry workshop at Sunshine Library as part of the lead-in to the Brimbank Literary Festival. As part of the workshop I got the participants to make some randomised poetry using one of two news articles I’d cut out of that day’s Herald Sun.

One article was a human interest bit about a cat that had returned home after going missing eight years ago. The other was a repurposed presser about housing prices. I was pretty pleased with what the workshoppers came up with.

Here’s the ones about the missing cat:

Pilchard ran away. / was attacked / dead / he reunited with family / after / disappeared. / eight long years
